My work is inspired by a lifelong passion for wildlife and the natural world, from the humble sparrow in my garden to watching humpback whales and wild horses in Iceland.
We tend to underestimate the huge, positive impact that immersing ourselves in nature has on our mental health and sense of well-being. Also a keen gardener, for me, working outside acts a a great antidote to the hours spent painting at my easel.
I paint from my studio at home near Sherborne in Dorset, where I use acrylics on canvas; applying them in bold strokes and leaving areas of white, creating a fresh dynamic feel, reflecting the constant movement of nature.
I have undertaken many commissions and my work has been exhibited at local galleries and shows, including:
Guggleton gallery, Stalbridge
Yandles gallery, Martock
Cove gallery, Weymouth
DWT Kingcombe and Chesil centres
Old Schoolhouse, Yetminster
First View gallery, Stourhead
Workhouse chapel, Sturminster Newton
