Born in the North of England, Keith qualified as a wood textile Technologist & Designer. He spent 13 years in Inda \& Pakistan, returning to England and established a career as a Design Engineer and Model-maker. A largely self-taught artist, he now paints exclusively in Soft Pastels, selling through South West Galleries. He features in private collections internationally and is a Full Academician of the South West Academy of Fine Arts. Keith tutors pastel workshops in Dorset and Devon, and does demonstrations and workshops for Art Societies and Groups throughout the South West.
In March 2018, Harbour House in Kingsbridge, South Devon, are holding an exhibition "A Celebration of Pastels" with Keith Stot and his students. This has been totally organised by Keith's pastel students from his weekend pastel workshops every month, to celebrate his 10/11 years of tutoring his pastel workshops. There will be a number of his paintings, then the rest of the gallery will be paintings from the numerous students who have attended his workshops. The whole idea was theirs ! Keith has enjoyed tutoring this lively, friendly and talented bunch of painters each month and takes great pleasure, enjoyment and inspiration from these workshops. There is always something new to learn from them, as well as sharing his own experiences and tips which have resulted from his years of pastel painting.
Keith also teaches through ArtsLink in Sherborne, on Mondays each week, in Digby Hall and his courses are a welcome addition to the many subjects and media already in the ArtsLink portfolio of courses.
